Introduction - So It Begins

This blog has been created to (loosely) chronicle the adventures of the Dungeons & Dragons group that I play in every second Monday night.  I use what happens in the game as the basis of this story, although most of it has been made up by me from scratch.  Most of the characters that are in this story do not, in fact, act they way they are portrayed in this blog.  Sure the game we play isn't overly serious, but they most certainly don't conduct themselves with the level of stupidity displayed here.  Fortunately for me all of the players are my friends and they understand my need to score cheap laughs at their, and my own, expense.

Thanks to them for being so understanding.

I got the idea for this blog part way through our second adventure so it really does throw the reader into the deep end.  Also the first 3 parts do not include the characters of Alyse and Grumpy as the players who were running them were not at that particular session.  I work them into the story in Part IV - Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?

As our game is held every two weeks I will have plenty of time to write these updates and post them onto this blog.

Ideally I'd like to write these stories so that they appeal to all and not just gamers.  If there are incidents that occur that are the result of a particular aspect of the game, I will insert an Authors note at the end of the Part to explain why it happened.

If time permits I may go back and re-write Chapters 2 & 3 as they aren't really very good.  I did manage to find the time to re-write Chapter 1 and it is much better than my original attempt.

I'd like to think that from Part IV onwards the standard of writing improves.  This is primarily because I really began to enjoy what I was doing and therefore devoted more time to it.  I guess the message that I'm trying to get out there is for new readers to persist through the first three parts as they do get better.

Finally, if you do happen to like this blog please feel free to tell your friends about it.  The more the merrier!
